Mary-Wynne sang with the Belle Cantos choir in Calgary for two years and then stopped singing when she started medical school at the age of 37. She was a Family doctor and Palliative Care Specialist in Victoria until her retirement.
She started back into music in 2012 at the age of 73 when she took the two-week Community Choir Leadership Training intensive program with Denis Donnelly and Shivon Robinsong. Her goal is to encourage choral singing with the Baha’is as a tool for community building.
She studied voice with Victoria Zajchowski, and did RCM Grade 4 Voice and Intermediate Theory. She studied musicianship with Denis Donnelly and is now studying voice with Kathryn Whitney. She sings with the Gettin’ Higher Choir and leads a small Baha’i choir where most of the members are Persian.
This will be Mary-Wynne’s first performance as a singer.
