Judy Roberts is the youngest of seven children who inherited musical genes from their Welsh father. Her mother ensured a basic training in piano, and all were natural singers.
One of Judy’s musical memories was the habit of some of her siblings retiring to sing around the piano after supper, leaving mother to do the dishes. Of course, by the time she was finished, the cooperation came to an end! But that is how Judy learned to sing.
For several decades, St. Barnabas’ choir in Victoria has been Judy’s main musical experience. In the last few years, she has taken singing lessons with Tim Welch in Ajijic, Mexico in the winter months, and in the summer with Maureen Branch at VCM.
